On July 27, Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy Tang Renjian, who is also Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the resumption ceremony of the China-aid National Convention Center of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) upon invitation during his visit to the FSM to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Simina. Aren B. Palik, Vice President of the FSM, Peter M. Christian, Senator of the FSM Congress and former President, Perpetua S. Konman, Senator of the FSM Congress, Ricky F. Cantero, Acting Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the FSM, Leonito M. Bacalando, Acting Secretary of the Department of Justice of the FSM, McGarry Miguel, Vice Speaker of Pohnpei State Legislature, and other dignitaries of the FSM, as well as representatives from China State Construction Engineering Corporation Steel, the contractor of the FSM National Convention Center project, attended the ceremony.

Wu Wei, the Chinese Ambassador to the FSM, and Vincent Sivas, the FSM Ambassador to China, delivered speeches respectively on behalf of each government, congratulating the successful resumption of the project after the two countries jointly overcome the difficulties such as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
