On June 17, 2009, H.E. Mr. Emanuel Mori, President of the FSM hosted a farewell reception for H.E. Madam Ambassador LIU Fei at PCR restaurant in Pohnpei. Chief Justice Andon Amaraich, H.E. Alik Alik, vice Presidient, Hon. Lorin Robert, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dr. Vita Skilling, Secretary of Health and Social Affairs, National Senators, Pohnpei State legislators, Government officials, representatives of Diplomatic Missions, the Chinese nationals, about 150 guests attended the reception.

In his speech, President Mori expressed his satisfaction with significant improvement and strengthening of the FSM-China relations most evident at the bilateral level in terms of development cooperation assistance ranging from financial and technical assistance to human resource development to community-level development. President Mori also spoke highly of the great contributions made by Ambassador LIU during her tenure. This year is the 20^th anniversary of FSM-China relationship and will be celebrated. FSM-China model relationship will surely demonstrated by the esteemed Chinese Government. President Mori also reaffirmed FSM's strong stance on the one-China policy.

Ambassador LIU also made an impromptu speech and expressed her gratitude to President Mori for the special reception and to all the FSM leaders and good friends for their kind support and assistance during her stay here. In recent years, Sino-FSM relations have achieved all-round development with joint efforts from two sides, which benefit the peoples from China and FSM. She was also confident that the Sino-FSM relations will be further developed to a new height.
