Ambassador Wu Wei Pays Courtesy Calls on Speaker T.H. Esmond B. Moses and Other Senators

On July 6, 2023, H.E. Ambassador Wu Wei paid a courtesy call on T.H. Esmond B. Moses, Speaker of the 23rd Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia.

Ambassador Wu conveyed the cordial greetings from H.E. Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, to T.H. Moses, and congratulated him on his election as the Speaker of the 23rd FSM Congress. Ambassador Wu introduced the connotation and practical significance of the Chinese Path to Modernization, and highly appreciated that the FSM Congress adheres to the one-China principle. Ambassador Wu said that China stands ready to strengthen the friendly exchanges with the FSM Congress and other government institutions of the FSM, expand pragmatic cooperation, and enhance the friendship between the two peoples, pushing forward the China-FSM Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

T.H. Moses asked Ambassador Wu to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to H.E. Zhao Leji. He said that the FSM Congress will continue to uphold the one-China policy, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, and promote the continuous development of the FSM-China ties.

Recently, Ambassador Wu paid courtesy calls respectively on T.H. Quincy Lawrence, Floor Leader of the FSM Congress, and Hon. Merlynn Abello-Alfonso, Senator of the FSM Congress, to exchange views on China-FSM relations and practical cooperation.
