The 63rd Anniversary of the Founding of the P. R. China was celebrated

A reception was hosted by Ambassador Zhang Lianyun at the China Star Restaurant in the evening of September 25, 2012 to celebrate the 63rd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China.
Around 100 guests, including Vice President Alik, Speaker Figir and Senators of the 17th FSM Congress, cabinet members, Deputy Secretary Pretrick, Pohnpei State Governor Ehsa, Heads of the Diplomatic Missions and local Chinese residents and businessmen in Pohnpei attended the reception.
Ambassador Zhang and Deputy Secretary Pretrick delivered remarks respectively.
Ambassador Zhang briefly introduced the achievements of China's economic and social development in last 63 years, especially those during the last 33 years after China adopted opening up and reform policy in 1978, and highly valued the development of China-FSM relations.
Deputy Secretary Pretrick expressed congratulations on the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the P. R. China on behalf of the FSM Government and said that the FSM side attached great importance to the FSM-China relations and stood ready to make concerted efforts with China to deepen the bilateral relations.
