Recently, the 13th Kosrae State Legislature adopted the Legislative Resolution to emphasize that Kosrae State firmly supports the one-China policy and the development of FSM-China relations, endorsing the Congressional Resolution passed in this April to reiterate the one-China Policy as the official policy of the FSM. Kosrae State Legislature also sent a copy of the Legislative Resolution to Ambassador Wu Wei. On September 11 that marks the 34th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the FSM, with regard to the adoption of the said Resolution, Wu wrote a letter to Hon. Semeon J. Phillip, the Speaker of Kosrae State Legislature, to extend his appreciation and compliments.

Wu said in the letter that the one-China principle is the political foundation for China-FSM relations. Since the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and the FSM 34 years ago, the bilateral relations have experienced fast and vibrant development on the basis of adherence to the one-China principle. The adoption of the said Resolution fully shows the strong support from Kosrae State and its people for the one-China principle and China-FSM friendship. Looking ahead, China stands ready to deepen practical cooperation across the board with all states of the FSM including Kosrae State, and expand exchanges between sister provinces and states at all levels, so as to promote the steady and sustained development of bilateral relations.
