Ambassador Huang Zheng Presented Copy of Credentials to Foreign Secretary of the FSM

On May 31, H.E. Huang Zheng, the new Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the FSM, met with Hon. Lorin S. Robert, Secretary of Department of Foreign Affairs of the FSM and presented his copy of credentials to Secretary Robert.

Ambassador Huang conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes of President Xi Jinping and the government and people of China to President Peter M. Christian and the government and people of the FSM. Ambassador Huang said that the Chinese government attaches great importance to China-FSM relations and always sees in the FSM a sincere friend and an important partner in the Pacific islands region. He would exert the best efforts to follow up on the important consensus reached between two Presidents, strengthen the friendship between the two peoples, and deepen the strategic partnership between China and FSM, so as to bring bilateral relations to a new high and benefit the two peoples.

Secretary Robert welcomed Ambassador Huang to take his new post and expressed gratitude for China's aid to the FSM. He reiterated that the FSM will uphold One-China Principle and develop the strategic partnership between two countries. He will facilitate the work of Ambassador Huang to push forward the cooperation and exchanges in different levels and fields between the FSM and China.

Ambassador Huang arrived at Pohnpei at May 30 and was warmly welcomed at the airport by Secretary Lorin Robert, H.E. John Haglelgam, former President of the FSM and President of Micronesia-China Friendship Association and Hon. McGarry Miguel, Floor Leader of Pohnpei Legislature and Vice President of MCFA among others.
