On April 15, hand-over ceremony for drought relief assistance from Chinese Embassy was held in Pohnpei State Government. H.E Ambassador Li Jie, Pohnpei State Governor Peterson, Pohnpei State Legislature Speaker Scaliem, 5 City Mayors and the outer islands Chiefs from Pohnpei State attended the Ceremony. Ambassador Li Jie and Governor Peterson delivered speeches respectively.
On behalf of the Chinese Embassy, Ambassador Li expressed sympathy to the people who are suffering from El Nino affected drought and hoped the difficulties will be soon overcome with the help of the international society, the National and Pohnpei State Government.

Governor Peterson deeply appreciated the generosity of the Chinese Embassy. He said that Chinese government and Chinese Embassy responded swiftly to the request of our people, reflecting the close friendly relations between China and FSM.
