From March 1 to 5, at the invitation of Hon. Tony Ganngiyan, Governor of Yap State of the Federated States of Micronesia, Ambassador H.E. Li Jie and his wife paid a visit to Yap to attend the most important local festival--the 49th Yap Day.
As Dean of the diplomatic corps, Ambassador Li Jie attended the opening and closing ceremony of Yap Day, watched the art performances and visited traditional villages with H.E. President Peter Christian and Hon. Governor Tony Ganngiyan and expressed congratulations on behalf of the diplomatic corps.

During his visit, Ambassador Li Jie held meetings with Governor Tony Ganngiyan, Lieutenant Governor James Yangetmai, Speaker Ted Rutun, Chief Justice Cyprian Manmaw, Chairman Vincent Figir of Yap-China Economic & Cultural Promotion Association and Mr. David Morris of the Pacific Islands Trade & Investment Commission Office in China. They exchanged in-depth views on promoting China-Yap economic cooperation and personnel exchanges. Ambassador Li Jie also visited Vessel Hapilmohol, Yap state hospital and sports complex.
