On August 24th 2021, Ambassador Huang Zheng met with T.H. Florencio Singkoro Harper, Floor Leader of the 22nd Congress of the FSM. Counselor Zhang Weitao, Deputy Chief of Mission, among others, attended the meeting.
Ambassador Huang briefed Floor Leader Harper on the recent development of China-FSM relations, the progress of practical cooperation in various sectors between the two countries, Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, as well as the major achievements of the Communist Party of China over the past century and its contribution to the world. Ambassador Huang emphasized that China’s foreign aid has always been following the principle of equality, mutual benefit, openness and sustainability, thus it is the sincerest and most selfless one. One-China Principle is the fundamental bedrock of China-FSM relations. Ambassador Huang encouraged Floor Leader Harper to continue playing an active role in the 22nd Congress and make joint efforts with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus reached between our leaders during their meeting in Beijing and advance China-FSM Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Floor Leader Harper expressed sincere appreciation for the large amount of sincere and selfless assistance provided by China to the FSM and his home state, Chuuk. He said that, while firmly upholding One-China Principle as always, he himself and the FSM Congress will actively promote bilateral practical cooperation in all sectors, contributing further to the development of the “Great Friendship” and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and the FSM onto new heights.
