On June 3rd, 2021, Ambassador Huang Zheng, as Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in the FSM, received Her Excellency Jo Cowley, the new Ambassador of Australia to the FSM, in a courtesy call.
Ambassador Huang welcomed Ambassador Cowley to the FSM to take office and briefed her on China-FSM relations. Ambassador Huang emphasized that China's assistance to the FSM holds the principles of equality, mutual benefits, openness, and sustainability, attaching no political strings and demonstrating China's concrete efforts to act on Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and to promote the building of a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity, which is therefore highly appreciated by the FSM government and people.
Ambassador Cowley listened carefully to what Ambassador Huang had talked about and then outlined the recent development of Australia-FSM relations, as well as their major cooperation projects. Ambassador Cowley expressed the readiness of herself and the Australian embassy in the FSM to maintain a good working relationship with the Chinese embassy in the FSM.
